Hello:

I just read your comments about your trip to Panama, and there are a few things i would like to write in order to set the record straight:

1. Panama was never a Province of Colombia (the Colombia you know by this name today) Panama was a Province of (LA GRAN COLOMBIA) which was conformed by: Venezuela, Nueva Granada(this is the one you now as colombia today), and Ecuador.

2. Panama belonged to Spain, and after got its independence from Spain, joined (LA GRAN COLOMBIA) leadered by Simon Bolivar. After Bolivar died, Ecuador and Venezuela got separated and Panama wanted to do the same, but Nueva Granada did not allowed this and sent its army to Panama to force it to remain united against its will.

3. A panamenian commission lead by Jose Agustin Arango and Manuel Amador Guerrero looked for help from The United States of America in order to get the colombian army out of its territory and gain back again its sovereignity.

So, i just want to clear out, the LA GRAN COLOMBIA has nothing to do with the Colombia you know today, it is two different things, saying this, it is clear that Panama has never been a colombian province what so ever, but a spanish province. I rest my case!!
